In the summer of 2015, close to 7,000 athletes and 250,000 visitors converged on Toronto for the Pan Am/Parapan Am Games – and the University of Toronto was a significant part of the excitement.
The University of Toronto was home to several Games events at both the Scarborough (UTSC) and Downtown Toronto (St. George) campuses.
The CIBC Pan Am / Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House at the UTSC campus featured diving, fencing, swimming, synchronized swimming and sitting volleyball (Parapan Am Games). Modern pentathlon also took place at the Centre and adjacent fields. The new University of Toronto Scarborough Tennis Centre hosted wheelchair tennis.
U of T was proud to be a part of the Toronto 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games, but the success of bringing the Games to the University was largely due to the contributions of many U of T staff.
